    • The Stoney Soil is a Heart The Gospel Does Not __________

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. Matthew 13: 19

    • The Shallow Soil Is A Heart Where The Gospel Does Not Take __________

As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. Matthew 13:20-21

    • The Strangled Soil Is A Heart Where The Gospel Is Not __________

As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. Matthew 13:22

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” Matthew 13:23

Reflection Questions:

  • Has the Gospel penetrated the hardness of your heart?
    • Do you regularly repent of sinful actions, words and thoughts?
    • Is there anything you have yet to repent of?
  • Has the Gospel taken root in your heart?
    • Are you able to face difficulties and persecution because you cling to Jesus?
    • Is there anything that could happen to you that would cause you to turn away from Jesus?
  • Has Jesus Become Your Highest Affection?
    • Is there anything in this world that you would not joyfully let go of for the sake love of Jesus?
    • Where does your affection land in the form of your time, money, thoughtlife and energy?
